Blessed

I don't keep a diary or journal or else this would probably be in there, but I do feel the need to say these things outside my own head. So here it is...

As Jacob said early this morning my family can't cut break...my family meaning my mom's side. When things get hard it is normally in November or close to, I merely joked about this a couple weeks ago. It doesn't seem so humorous anymore. It first started with my little cousin Jalen who is only 4 having to go in to have a heart catheter removed. The reason for it being put it was because off some heart and lung complication, can't remember the name. Anyway he went in the Monday before Thanksgiving was fine for the first few hours after surgery, then he had internal bleeding problems and it became touch and go. The doctors came to the conclusion the best chance of survival would be a spleen removal. This worked, but now he is to take medications daily throughout his life, assuming all other obstacles are over for him. He is now taking physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. He is such a tough boy.

Late last night I found out my Aunt Ti Ann was in the hospital, this turned out to be because of her appendix and it has now been removed. This has now been followed by finding out after church my great-aunt Wendy had passed away. This is bitter sweet, for she has been struggling with severe diabetes for the past few years, now we all know she is at ease and best of all with my Great-Grandmother(her mother), the best women I have ever known. My Uncle Bobby, bless his heart, has spent most of his days caring for her, carrying her(both literally and figuratively), doing everything he can to keep her comfortable and happy. All his kids are grown, busy and live out of state, she was his everything. I hope and pray he does okay without her.

All these things have made me feel so amazingly blessed and aware of what I have. For my husband, our love, our health, that nothing has taken him from me or me from him (I have to say that is one of our biggest fears). For our beautiful, healthy, amazing daughter who lights up our world. For the tiny blessings and the large ones. The church and knowing that should anything happen to use, we will be together again. For giving us the comfort we need in times of need and heartache, to know Heavenly Father is ALWAYS there for us. For the people in our lives outside of Jacob, Scarlette and I, both friends and family(no matter how crazy they may seem). Aside from the Gospel and Heavenly Father, Jacob and Scarlette are most wonderful blessing and it over whelms me at times my love for them. I am so thankful for them and every moment we have together.

That is all I need to share. I love you all so very much!

Home Sweet Home

So I have been dying to paint our home since...well since we have been married and living together. I hate white walls and even more not being able to put our personal touch on them. I finally decided to just ask our landlord if we could paint it and offered to paint it back when we move, if we don't buy the house yadda yadda yadda. Basically he could care less, if he likes it he will keep it that way, if not, we paint it when the time comes. Sooo being determined, OCD, and with the help of my husband this weekend we painted Scarlette's room, a wall/niche by our dining area and the larger wall by our stairs. The wall by the stairs is by far my favorite! We still have to do our room but have decided to wait till next weekend. So here are the picture...

Tinkerbell was the inspiration behind Scarlette's room

I know there is one wall not being show, we miscalculated the green, haha. So the window wall is still white.

Now for the other walls...

This is the dining wall with the new China cabinet we were given...LOVE IT!

Here is the staircase wall!!!

The upclose is to kind of show the furniture pins we put in the white lines.

Here is the all together picture.

Of course I still have more I am excited and looking forward to doing. But, of course, based off budget and time we will slowly continue... I can't wait!

Cold days, sippy's,and Pumpkin fairies!

Our family loves autumn/winter. Not only because of the holidays but the weather and well just the overall feeling of this time of year! Not to mention we got to bring out the hot cocoa : ) I never realized how stinking cute babies are in winter clothes, here are a couple pictures of Scarlette's first CoLD DaYs...

Mommy and Scarlette

This one has become one of my most favorite pictures of her!

We have also started using sippy cups! she actually finds it very entertaining, something she can play with and get a treat when she figures out how to get it to her mouth. This keeps her amused and feeding for a good amount of time.
On to Halloween...

this is just one taken the day of that I think she looks sweet in.

But...
here is the actual night of Halloween all dressed up as a Pumpkin Fairy with daddy.
My mom loves this costume do to the fact she has nicknamed Scarlette, Punkin(pumpkin)

Just before trick-or-treating with the cousins

Summer and Scarlette...Summer also shared a song with us that night that she made for Scarlette. Very creative and very sweet...thanks Summer!

Oh and the scandal of Halloween...Summer smacking Hunter caught on camera.

Daddy made me fly

And all this excitement made me pooped!

Our little sitter

Still didn't figure out the video for her sitting up. but here are a couple of pictures. The amused hypnotized look is due to the televsion. She loves to stare at the tv screen, I am guessing because of the colors, I hope this does not become a bad habit as she gets older though.

i absolutely love this one of her!

Bitter Sweet

okay postponing the blog that was going to be past events. This one is to just let you all know what Scarlette is up to these days.
So in the last post she just started rice cereal.
Two days after that she rolled over. Of course now there is the issue of her loving to roll of but hating to be on her stomach. Luckily she seems to be getting more and more used to it each day.

My mom came to visit from wed-sun and while she was here Scarlette started sleeping through the night! Yay for long sleep filled nights.

3 generations(aka 3 degree's of skin tone) :)

Yaya and Punkin(yaya's nickname for her)

Then Sunday I made a batch of homemade banana baby food. I thought she loved rice cereal, but boy did she love the banana's.

YUMMY!

All Gone! Had to scrape the bowl as much as possible.

And then this morning she sat up alone...no assistance. Currently it only last for about 10 secs or so but still very excited. I do have a video of it but can't seem to get it from my phone to the computer. Jacob did it last time. I will try to get it added to this post later today.

On top of all that she has discover the ability to take things from your hand, or anythimg in arms reach. Before she grabbed at things now she actually tries to take things. i love her!

I still can't believe how much she learns to do and the amount of changes she makes in just a week, it almost makes me sad now that I am truly realizing she is growing up so much and only 4 months old. Like people say, before I know it she will be all grown up, graduating high school. move out and on her own.

Bitter Sweet...

a first time for everything...

So I was recently informed that I need to update our blog(apparently 2 weeks is ToOo long of an update gap) Sorry Nana. Since the last post I have officially gone back to work, so far its a big change leaving Scarlette for so long daily, but it was a job I used to have before so at least that is not to over whelming. She has adjusted great. She loves being at Aunt Nat's and spending time with Tate who gives her contraband...like his bottles or ranch snuck out of the fridge : ) and Summer and Hunter till they go to their schools. The one day she goes to Sunrise with me she does well in the infant room playing with the abundant amount of toys and other babies. She has also experienced lots of FIRST TIMES and know I will go through them(with pictures included for your pleasure)

Scarlette at Papa's "farm" watching the chickens. Now the visit to papa's farm is not so much a first but the fact she did not scream in terror is. : )
Special "almost" kiss moment with the goats

This is a picture on her 1st day of school(well preschool at 3 months old
)
This week we spent our 1st night in our own room. She stayed there all night long...more or less I accomplished leaving her in there all night long. This was the morning after her 1st night, so well rested and ready for the day.

And here is the most exciting moment this week, which actually happened today. RICE CEREAL! We were going to wait a couple more weeks, but the girl started drinking jsut about 6 oz every 2-3 hours for days straight, figured she needed something a little more filling. Here is her first spoon ful. She loved it!

This is how I know she loved it, she ambushed the next spoonful and from that point tried to practically drink it out of the bowl, somewhat like an adorable puppy : )

This is the video Jacob recorded, unfortunately it cuts off right before I try to pry her from the bowl to show the cute mess on her face.
Now what you can't see is Jacob holding her right arm so she can't fully pull herself into the bowl, she sure was excited to get to the food.

Finally we put it in the bottle. Yay a happy baby girl! Although you should have heard the scream that came when the bottle went empty, not so happy then.

Just a heads up there will be a blog sooner than 2 weeks. BUT it will be more of a blast from the past I guess would be the best explaination. Since we didn't have a blog in her earlier days I will be posting some past moments in our families little adventures.

Games, games, and headbands, what a life!

So this week Scarlette had some 1st time experiences. She went to her cousin Hunter's soccer game. Of course Summer helped by holding her for a bit. They are too cute together. Hunter scored a goal and we were all so proud him!

I also made her head bands to go with her bows, one white and one black. Oddly enough they are made using tights. The first black one I made was made with an only slightly stretchy fabric that was also not a soft and gentle. But I absolutely LOVE the tights ones, they are so much softer and stretchier, thus they can last longer as she grows.

Her biggest deal this week was going to see Uncle Shane at his first home game for Gilbert High JV football. She was showing team spirit with her black and gold bow! This was her biggest and loudest crowd and outing yet, she didn't take it so well at first. But if held and walked around she was fine. We will see how this week goes.
