a first time for everything...

So I was recently informed that I need to update our blog(apparently 2 weeks is ToOo long of an update gap) Sorry Nana. Since the last post I have officially gone back to work, so far its a big change leaving Scarlette for so long daily, but it was a job I used to have before so at least that is not to over whelming. She has adjusted great. She loves being at Aunt Nat's and spending time with Tate who gives her contraband...like his bottles or ranch snuck out of the fridge : ) and Summer and Hunter till they go to their schools. The one day she goes to Sunrise with me she does well in the infant room playing with the abundant amount of toys and other babies. She has also experienced lots of FIRST TIMES and know I will go through them(with pictures included for your pleasure)

Scarlette at Papa's "farm" watching the chickens. Now the visit to papa's farm is not so much a first but the fact she did not scream in terror is. : )
Special "almost" kiss moment with the goats

This is a picture on her 1st day of school(well preschool at 3 months old
)
This week we spent our 1st night in our own room. She stayed there all night long...more or less I accomplished leaving her in there all night long. This was the morning after her 1st night, so well rested and ready for the day.

And here is the most exciting moment this week, which actually happened today. RICE CEREAL! We were going to wait a couple more weeks, but the girl started drinking jsut about 6 oz every 2-3 hours for days straight, figured she needed something a little more filling. Here is her first spoon ful. She loved it!

This is how I know she loved it, she ambushed the next spoonful and from that point tried to practically drink it out of the bowl, somewhat like an adorable puppy : )

This is the video Jacob recorded, unfortunately it cuts off right before I try to pry her from the bowl to show the cute mess on her face.
Now what you can't see is Jacob holding her right arm so she can't fully pull herself into the bowl, she sure was excited to get to the food.

Finally we put it in the bottle. Yay a happy baby girl! Although you should have heard the scream that came when the bottle went empty, not so happy then.

Just a heads up there will be a blog sooner than 2 weeks. BUT it will be more of a blast from the past I guess would be the best explaination. Since we didn't have a blog in her earlier days I will be posting some past moments in our families little adventures.

Games, games, and headbands, what a life!

So this week Scarlette had some 1st time experiences. She went to her cousin Hunter's soccer game. Of course Summer helped by holding her for a bit. They are too cute together. Hunter scored a goal and we were all so proud him!

I also made her head bands to go with her bows, one white and one black. Oddly enough they are made using tights. The first black one I made was made with an only slightly stretchy fabric that was also not a soft and gentle. But I absolutely LOVE the tights ones, they are so much softer and stretchier, thus they can last longer as she grows.

Her biggest deal this week was going to see Uncle Shane at his first home game for Gilbert High JV football. She was showing team spirit with her black and gold bow! This was her biggest and loudest crowd and outing yet, she didn't take it so well at first. But if held and walked around she was fine. We will see how this week goes.

Back to work, shots and bows

So recent events have included me going back to work starting next week at Sunrise. Kinda excited but feel bad about leaving her considering the last 3 months have been the 2 of us. But she will be with Natalie most the week and with me thursdays so that helps. Also we had shots for Scarlette, which of course she hated. I had to play bad guy and hold her still while daddy played good guy and saved the day when it was over. Luckily though she didn't get fussy later or a little ill. Also babysat my neice and nephew awhile ago. Boy is Summer enterainment to have around, not mention helpful. She loved taking care of Scarlette. As for Tate, he is so curious about Scarlette, very amused by her. It is funny watching him try to figure her out. all three together!

I have also accomplished making bows for Scarlette and very proud of myself. I do have to send thanks to Nat for giving me the tips to figure it out! so THANKS NAT. Here are what I have done so far...

busy busy...

So this last week has been pretty busy. Last Saturday I was able to get out (without Jacob and Scarlette) with the girls in the family to celebrate my sister-in-law and my birthday, sunday was our neice Brynleigh's blessing, monday through tuesday not to eventful just laundry and groceries, wednesday I cut and colored my hair. I finally did the hair cut I have wanting to do for awhile but wasn't sure I could accomplish getting it right. Turned out good though. Thursday cut Jacob's, luckily his is less stressful to do and Game Night at Amanda's. That was fun and nice to hang out with friends. This sunday we will be going to our nephew Hunter's birthday party, I can't believe he is 6 already. I remember him running around in diapers hitting me with toys. He is a bit nicer now : ) (and out of diapers of course)

Our Little Family

This is our little family, I say little family only because it is just 3 of us. Eventually we do plan on having a bigger family, but you have to start somewhere. My husband (Jacob) and I(Sydney) were married Nov. 8th of 2007 in the Mesa, AZ temple. We just had our first child in June, her name Scarlette Alexsa. She is an amazing 2 month old baby and growing so much everyday. I currently have the privilege of staying home with her. My husband runs a pest control company with his father which is doing well. He absolutely loves owning his own company, its something he has wanted for a long time. I am very proud of him. I though choose to work with kids when I do have a job. I have worked with kids for over 3 years and should I have to go back to work that is what I will continue to do.

My husband and I love spending time together, now a days, its consist of being home watching movies or just getting out to go grocery shopping, its hard to do to much with a little baby still. When we do get a chance to go out on our own though, we like to wing it. That's how it has almost always been for us, go out with no real plans, but by the end of the night we had a great time. As for individual time...he is a soccer boy, as is his whole family. His rules are during a game(mainly Chelsea games) no talking to him or asking him to do anything for you. Or he plays on his game systems and computer games. As for me I like to read, paint on canvas, sketch, scrapbook, and sew. Not that I am great at any of those, but I enjoy them anyway.

Lastly I can't guarantee that there will consistently be updated post, but I will try my best. : )
